Chenab
- VEDIC NAME- Askni
- SANSKRIT NAME-Chandra Bhaga
- ORIGIN -Formed by the confluence of Chandra & Bhaga stream at Tandi (in Lahaul) which arises from the opposite sides of Baralacha pass.

- Flows 122 km. in Himachal
- Catchment area in H.P. is 7500 Sqkm
- Enters Pangi Valley of Distt Chamba at Bhujind.

Ravi

- VEDIC NAME-Purushni
- SANSKRIT NAME-Iravati
- ORIGIN -Rises in Bara Banghal (Distt.Kangra) as a joint stream formed by glacier fed Bhadal and Tantgiri.
- TRIBUTARIES -Bhadal, Siul,Baira, Tantgiri,Chirchind Nullah
- SALIENT FEATURES -Flows 158 km in Himachal Catchment area in H.P. 5451 Sqkm.
- Alexander called it Hydraster or Rhouadis.
- Chamba Town lies on its right Bank
- Leaves Disttn Chamba at Kheri to enter J & K
- Merges with Chenab in Pakistan
- Separates Pirpanjal range from Dhauladhar
Satluj

- VEDIC Name -Shatadru
- ORIGIN-From Rakastal near Man Sarovar lake in Tibet as L o g c h h e w Khabab river.
- TRIBUTARIES-Baspa, spiti Nogli, Solan,
- SALIENT FEATURES
- Flows 320 km in Himachal
- Longest river in Himachal
- Catchment area in H.P is 20000Sqkm
- Enters H.P (Distt. Kinnaur) at Khabab river. Shipkila (6608 mtrs.)
- Enters Distt. Bilaspur at Kasol & leaves near Neila.
- Enters Distt. Shimla at Chaura – Leaves Himachal at Bhakhra to enter Punjab.
- Asia’s highest gravity dam Bhakhra was constructed on this rive in 1963.
- Largest artificial lake Gobind Sagar (168 Sqkm.) is also on this river. –
- It finally merges with the Indus river.
